Over the years, paint cans in you r home can grow into quite a confusing collection. Make it easy for you to remember which paint colors go in which room by using a permanent marker. Take a marker and mark the name of the color and the room the paint color was used in on each can. It's also a great idea to keep with your important papers a color swatch of the colors in your home. Paint companies often discontinue colors, but if you have your paint swatches with you when you go to the hardware store they can bring old colors back to life.
