During a dialogue on the national industrialisation policy at the Serena Conference Centre in Kampala, new issues were born out of the convergence, with Economists chastising government for running an economy without a policy on competition. 

Economic experts urged that the absence of a competition law, the country’s is most likely to suffer an economic injury as a result of deceptive or wrongful business practices.
