Helga says things like: “You’ve tried TO LOSE WEIGHT in the past, why do you think it’ll be different this time?” “You’ve always been FAT, so you’ll always be fat.” “You’re too old to lose weight — so why even bother?” “You’ll just gain it back.” “You’ve royally screwed up your metabolism — it won’t work!” First off, I have to say that all of those statements are complete bullshit (pardon my mouth, but they are)! I want to share a story with you that will give you the motivation and drive to kick “Helga” to the curb, and to see that your body LOVES you and ONLY wants to be healthy WITH you. Which will help you realize that it’s ABSOLUTELY possible for you TO LOSE WEIGHT (no matter how many diets you’ve done in the past, or how old you are). - HERE’S THE STORY - In February of 2013 I was dead broke beginning my 3rd year of being A WEIGHT LOSS coach. I was at my lowest of low. I had over $30,000 in debt, making an average of $10,000 a year and my self-esteem was in a puddle of tears… and “Helga” was being NASTY. She kept telling me: “You are a failure Nichole. You tried and failed. Just deal with it.” “Coaching just isn’t for you. Get a clue!” “This will never happen for you!” One day I mustered up some courage and hired yet another business coach. (Even though I felt completely taken advantage of by my last coach — used and abused to be frank). It was incredible to have a coach who I felt like they actually cared for me. That was totally different from what I had been used to. Erika (my new coach) pushed me to do things I was resisting, picked me up me when I slipped, and did everything in her power to help me reach my goals… Her belief in me helped me to start to believe in myself as well. Things were going great. I was actually getting clients and my confidence was increasing…. Then something happened. I had gone to the VERIZON WIRELESS store to celebrate my new success and upgrade my raggedy old phone. I started talking to another customer at the desk, helping him get the best deal he could. The agent behind the counter said, “Wow, you’re really good at sales! We’re hiring and would love to have you.” “What? Me? I’m good at sales? HA!” I thought, “If only he knew the truth and how much of a struggling business owner I really was.” Later that night I told Zac this funny story of how right when I start getting coaching clients, all of a sudden I get offered a job (that dang Universe is always there to test us, right). He responded, “Well, did you take the job?”Make your dreams (1) Me: “What? No. My coaching business is really starting to take off, babe.” Zac: “I understand that, but we’re really struggling here and could use some extra cash.” You see, Zac is my biggest supporter, by far, but after 3 years of me telling him my business was going to take off and soon I’d be able to support both of us; he too was starting to doubt my plan – which I totally understood. This conversation sent me into a self-sabotaging tail spin. I went from my highest high, to my lowest low. I was in tears and questioning everything – was this a sign that I shouldn’t be a coach? I showed up to my next coaching call with Erika, with my tail in between my legs and mascara running down my face. I felt like a failure once again. And Erika being the straight forward, tell it like it is, tough-love-type of coach that she is, gave me a piece of advice that completely changed my life. “Nichole! The reason why you are getting wishy-washy results is because you have wishy-washy thinking! How are you ever going to grow a successful business when you are CONSTANTLY questioning if it’s possible?” Whoa, she was so right. I was silent on the other end. She continued, “If you want to have a successful business you need to make it non-negotiable! There is NO OTHER OPTION. No more personal training clients. No more massage clients. You are a weight loss coach. Own it. Live it. BE it. Make it NON-NEGOTIABLE!” It was exactly what I needed to hear. I got off the phone FIRED UP, and with my knowledge on how to “re-wire” the brain for success, I got to work. You can do this, Nichole
