Report indicates an increased level of economic crime in Kenya

Assets misappropriation remains the biggest threat facing Kenyan companies followed by bribery and procurement fraud. According to the biennial economic crime report by financial services firm PriceWaterhouse Coopers, 70 percent of economic crimes in Kenya are perpetrated by insiders. The report reveals an increase in the level of economic crime of 61% as compared to 52% in 2014, which is 25% above the global average.
