Hey guys!

Here is part 4 of my beginner guitar course and in this tutorial we're going to be looking at how to learn open chords using chord boxes and the fretting hand technique to play these chords.

Open chords are found in what is called open position (frets 1-4 of the guitar neck). Open chords use a combination of open strings (where no fingers are placed on a string but the string is played) and fretted notes (where we have a finger pressing into the string at a specific fret).

I go through how we identify the fingers on the fretting hand, and how you should position the hand and the fingers to successfully play your open chords.

I also give my recommendations for how to play an E minor chord, and how best to tackle an F chord when you find it in a chord progression.
