Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Add Equals, Plus, Minus as buttons to Excel to enter a formula completely with the house. 

Welcome to another episode of the MrExcel netcast, where we tackle all your Excel questions and provide helpful tips and tricks to make your Excel experience even better. In today's "Where Is It Wednesday" segment, we'll be discussing how to add the equals icon to your Excel Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) and use your mouse to build formulas.

Many of you may remember the equal sign that used to be next to the formula bar in older versions of Excel. This allowed you to quickly start a formula without launching the function wizard. However, this feature seems to have disappeared in Excel 2007 and even in Excel 2003. But don't worry, we can easily customize our QAT to bring back this useful tool.

For those of you using Excel 2003, simply go to Tools, Customize, and find the equal sign and other operator keys under the Insert category. You can then drag these onto your QAT for easy access. This is especially helpful for those who prefer using a mouse to enter formulas.

Now, for those of you using Excel 2007, the process is a bit different. You will need to right-click on your QAT, choose Customize, and then go to Commands not in the ribbon. Here, you will find the equal sign and other operator keys alphabetically. Simply add them to your QAT and you can start building formulas with just a few clicks of your mouse.

This feature may seem small, but it can save you a lot of time and effort, especially if you're a mouse person like me. So go ahead and add the equals icon to your QAT and make your Excel experience even smoother.
