Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Use a picture as the background for an Excel Chart.
Welcome to another episode of the MrExcel netcast! I'm Bill Jelen and this week, we're coming to you from the beautiful city of Kioba in Southern Brazil. The scenery here is absolutely breathtaking, with the mountains rising directly out of the ocean. But enough about the view, let's talk about Excel 2007 and its charting capabilities.

Today, we're going to focus on how to add a background to your charts in Excel 2007. There are three different areas where you can add a background: the plot area, the entire chart area, and the series itself. To add a background to the plot area, simply select it and go to the Format tab. From there, you can choose a picture to use as the background. This is a great way to add some visual interest to your charts and make them stand out.

But what if you want the entire chart, including the title, to have a background? No problem! Just select the chart area and follow the same steps to add a picture or change the color. This is a great option if you want to add your company logo or a specific image to your chart.

Lastly, you can also add a background to the series itself. This can be a bit tricky because the picture may blend in with the color of the series. However, it's still a great way to add some creativity to your charts and make them more visually appealing.

So there you have it, three different ways to add a background to your charts in Excel 2007. Whether you want to add some visual interest or incorporate your company's branding, these options are sure to make your charts stand out.
