Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Display all Excel Options using the full Excel-2003-style dialogs. Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast! I'm Bill Jelen and I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year. It's January 2nd and I'm sure some of you have received new computers for Christmas or maybe it's a new budget year and you finally have the funds to upgrade to Excel 2007. But now you're faced with the challenge of navigating through the new interface and trying to find the features you're used to in Excel 2003. Don't worry, I've got you covered with some helpful tips in this episode. As you may have noticed, the most important features are now located on the Home tab. But if you're looking for something that used to be on the File menu, like Print or Save, you can find it under the Menu formerly known as File - the big round circle in the top left corner. But here's a quick tip to make your transition to Excel 2007 a little smoother. Within each Ribbon tab, there are groups of related features. And in the lower right-hand corner of these groups, you'll find a tiny symbol called a Dialog Launcher. This is Microsoft's fancy term for what I like to call the "Please just take me back to the way I know and love" button. So if you're trying to find a feature like File, Page Setup, you can simply click the Dialog Launcher in the Page Setup group and it will take you back to the familiar Excel 2003 dialog box. This also works for other features like Format Cells - just click the Dialog Launcher in any group on the Home tab and it will take you to the old Format Cells dialog box. It's a great way to quickly find your way around the new interface and get back to the old dialogue. So don't stress about learning the new location of every feature, just look for those Dialogue Launchers and you'll be good to go. Thanks for tuning in to this netcast from MrExcel. I hope these tips will make your transition to Excel 2007 a little easier. Don't forget to subscribe to our channel for more Excel hacks and tips. See you next time!
