Matt Jackson and Jane Kennedy are working members of the Class 40 Preservation Society/Bury Diesel Group. Today is their Easter wedding day with the wedding party travelling on the East Lancashire Railway's 'Wedding Belle' Special. The locomotive that hauled the train to Rawtenstall was CFPS mainline engine 40145, and so here we see this heavyweight 2000 hp English Electric engine at Rawtenstall adorned with balloons and ribbons courtesy of the CFPS. This is a view of the loving couple posing in front of the engine with an official photographer preparing to take a photograph and also driver Chris Guntripp at the cab window looking very smart indeed. The bride and groom and locomotive certainly make a nice threesome. The date is Saturday 22nd March 2008.
