Once again it's the East Lancashire Railway and here we see one of the Class 40 Preservation Society locomotives (D335) arriving at Bury Bolton Street on Saturday 3rd February 2007. The sunbeams make this shot a little hazy and the steam heat boiler is working hard. All the same, it's nice to see a bit of sunshine on the railway amongst the dull and dismal Lancashire weather. Dave Peacock, the CFPS Engineer, is on driving duties today and we see him jump down from the cab but he will soon return in preparation for another run to Ramsbottom and Rawtenstall. People are milling about amongst all the excitement that this precious locomotive generates but it's only doing what it's supposed to do and here it is whistling away on platform 3 with its 2000hp English Electric engine ticking over nicely. A jolly good day out on the ELR!
