A glorious shot of English Electric Class 40 40145, cared for by the Class 40 Preservation Society, ticking over in the early morning of Saturday 13th January 2007. It's an overcast day with intermittent showers at Castlecroft (Bury Diesel Group) on the East Lancashire Railway, Bury, Lancashire, United Kingdom. There are no Class 40's running today but CFPS engineer Dave Peacock and a handful of volunteers were helping to maintain 40145's sister locomotive (D335) in preparation for a C exam. Top driver Matt Jackson is seen here doing a bit of shunting in preparation for the following weekend, thus creating an ideal opportunity to take this video.
