Operating conditions across the private sector slowed to the weakest expansion in the last ten months due to reduced output and fewer new orders. The Markit Stanbic Bank Kenya Purchasing Managers’ Index posted a reading of 52.7 in September, down from 54.6 in the previous month which Economist Jibran Qureishi attributes to price pressures as a result of higher taxation and fuel prices.
