A5228047 Candy is a loving 5-year-old blue and white spayed female Pit Bull and Boxer mix who was found as a stray in Baldwin Park and brought to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on October 15th. Weighing 50 lbs, Candy is a bit overwhelmed in her kennel and finds the noisy chaotic environment stressful, but her happy “Bull Boxer” attitude and winning personality comes out almost immediately once she’s out to explore in the play yard. She has a playful puppyish personality that shines when she feels comfortable. She likes meeting people and giving out kisses. We think she will be a good family dog though she is recommended for kids 8+ because the energy and unpredictability of the young ones might not be good for her. Similarly, she’s recommended for homes with calm dogs or as queen of the castle because she gets excited about other dogs who are excited around her. She is pretty good on leash and did great on her shelter-administered temperament test. Candy will be a terrific family member in a loving forever home.

Our Mission:

United Hope for Animals is dedicated to reducing homelessness among companion animals through spay/neuter, shelter support, photography, video and networking of shelter animals in Southern California. It is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization working to end homelessness among companion animals by supporting shelter adoptions and spay/neuter programs. Through our Shelter Support Program, our volunteers photograph and video shelter pets to increase their chances of adoption significantly. Our volunteer Adoption Coordinators help facilitate adoptions of shelter pets. United Hope for Animals supports rescue, spay/neuter and networking of shelter pets to increase their chances of adoption. UHA is not a shelter, but supports shelters to help increase visibility of animals who might not otherwise be seen.
