East African Community gets back control of Development Bank

The East African Development Bank will by December this year become an Institution of the East African Community. 

The first Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Affairs Hajji Kirunda Kivejinja, made the revelation to lawmakers of the East Africa Legislative assembly sitting in Arusha Tanzania.

The East African Development Bank was one of the only surviving institutions of the East African Community, which collapsed in 1977, but it was made independent in 1980 with shareholding by the original partner states.
