Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Excel - Shift F11 Inserts a Blank Worksheet. Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast! I'm Bill Jelen, and I started this netcast at the suggestion of Leo Laporte. He thought it would be great to have an Excel podcast, and I couldn't agree more. When I first started looking for other podcasts on iTunes, I came across one called the 2-minute Photoshop podcast. However, I quickly realized that the episodes were much longer than 2 minutes, and it got me thinking about the length of my own netcast. In yesterday's episode, the question from Rod went on for almost 5 minutes. If this is your first time watching, I promise that most of the time, I will keep it to 2 or 3 minutes. But every now and then, we may have a more complicated topic that requires a bit more time. Today, however, I have a quick and simple tip for you, since it's Friday. Have you ever needed to make copies of a worksheet? My usual trick is to hold down the Ctrl key and click and drag the worksheet to make a copy. But sometimes, you just need a brand new worksheet. Instead of going through the process of inserting a new worksheet, there's a faster way. Just hold down the shift key and hit F11. This will quickly insert a new worksheet for you. And if you need multiple new sheets, just hold down shift and hit F11 multiple times. So next time you need a new worksheet, remember this shortcut and save yourself some time. Thanks for stopping by, and we'll see you next time for another netcast from MrExcel. Don't forget to like and subscribe for more Excel tips and tricks!
