Lauren Hill to be inducted into Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKRC) - There's a new honor now for Lauren Hill more than three years after her death from brain cancer.

The former Mount Saint Joseph University basketball player will be inducted into the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame in 2019.

After being diagnosed with DIPG, her wish was to play in a college game. She did and scored a layup that brought the crowd -- and the opposing team -- to tears.

Also being inducted are high school teams from Middletown, the old Lockland-Wayne high schools that won two state championships in the '50s and Mike Sanzere, a University of Cincinnati and Roger Bacon grad who's been a referee for 35 years.

The induction ceremony will be in May in Columbus.
