Highlights of the career of the British film and TV composer Nicholas Hooper (1952- ) include scoring two of the Harry Potter films, and providing music for some acclaimed BBC natural history documentaries. He has also written ballet and other stage music. Blewbury is a village in Oxfordshire, England. This impressionistic piece (published in 1984) reminds me slightly of the Welsh composer William Mathias (eg, Toccata alla danza) in its slightly strident middle section. Incidentally, if anyone buys the score and wants to play from it, I would recommend photocopying the lot and changing the position of the pages. The 1984 edition of the score has clearly been engraved to start on an even numbered page (ie on the left hand side of two facing pages) yet has been printed starting on the right, necessitating some difficult and unnecessary turns.
