National Coordinator and leader of the Odua Peoples Congress, OPC, Gani Adams has strongly rejected a proposed plan by the Nigerian government to clampdown on the group. President Goodluck Jonathan had, in his mid-term report, said the OPC in the south-west of the country and MASSOB( Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra) in the south-east pose a security challenge to the country. But Adams insists that is not correct and that the President may have been misled by his security advisers. He also says he believes it is a design to what he calls "even the equation" because of the military offensive against radical islamist sect, Boko Haram in the north-east of Nigeria.
