LAGOS OIL PIPELINE EXPLOSION

Oil thieves have again struck at oil pipelines belonging the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC. The thieves hacked into a pipeline at IJEODODO community around the Ojo area of Lagos state.Their activity triggered a powerful explosion, which destroyed electricity installations throwing the entire community into darkness. Residents of the community are worried that they may not have public power supply for a long time. They say this has always been the case each time a pipeline explodes in the area as a result of vandalism. For the past seven years, they say there have been consecutive pipeline explosions in the community. They want the state government to fix the major road in the swampy community to check the activities of oil thieves in the area.
