Milk teeth form the foundation for the permanent teeth that are going to erupt later in life. Milk teeth are most essential for the child to develop speech, chewing habits, etc. Also, they guide the permanent tooth to erupt in the correct place. Also, they have a great value aesthetically and helps the child build confidence.. So, milk teeth are as much essential as permanent teeth & even though they shed off, it is very important that they are treated and retained till the actually age they are supposed to be.
