Government to explore ways to harness block chain technology

The government is exploring how to harness block chain technology and artificial intelligence to improve transparency and efficiency in the public service. ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru says he will in a week’s time name a taskforce that will explore the application of block chain technology in the ICT sector. As Regina Manyara-Gitau narrates, the block chain technology, which powers the cryptocurrency transactions such as Bitcoins, allows records to be stored separately but linked using a secure code making it impossible to modify the data.
