The Benefits and Uses of Tea Tree Oil for Hair Of course, you know what tea tree oil is, because it is so popular and versatile! But let's see what are the benefits and uses of tea tree oil for hair. 1. Dandruff Treatment This one is the first that comes to mind, usually. That's because tea tree oil has effective antimicrobial and anti-fungal properties. The simplest way to use it is to simply add 2-3 drops to your shampoo, and wash your hair as usual. Alternatively you can mix in a clean bottle ½ cup of distilled water, ¼ cup of liquid castile soap, 2 teaspoons of vegetable glycerin and 15 drops of tea tree essential oil. Use a little of this mixture on the scalp, then rinse off just like you do with a shampoo. 2. Scalp Cleansing Here it can be used in a similar way as in the previous point: Just add 10-15 drops of tea tree oil to an 8 oz shampoo bottle, and use it to wash your hair. 3. Relieves Itchiness Make an anti-itch hair spray to get a relief from this itchy scalp! Take a 2 oz amber bottle, and add in it 4 drops of tea tree oil, 2 teaspoons of witch hazel, and 4 drops of lavender oil. Fill up the rest of the bottle with distilled water, shake well, and use to spray onto your itchy scalp. 4. Hair Growth If you apply diluted tea tree oil on the scalp, it can stimulate hair growth. Here is the recipe: Take a clean and dark bottle, and add in it 2 tablespoons of jojoba oil and 1 tablespoon of castor oil. Now add 6 drops each of these oils: tea tree oil, lavender oil, and rosemary oil. Close the bottle, and roll it between your palms to give the ingredients a gentle mix. To use, massage the mixture onto your scalp, then cover it with a shower cap, and leave for 2 hours. Once the time is up, wash your hair thoroughly with a natural shampoo. Notes - Since tea tree oil can cause an allergy reaction in some people, do a patch test before using it on your skin and hair. - Always dilute tea tree oil before use: common ratio is 2 drops of tea tree oil per 2 teaspoons of carrier oil or shampoo. #teatreeoil #dandruff #itchyscalp #hairgrowth #hairspray #hairfall ------------------------------- In our channel "Agnistoka: you will find more interesting and useful videos on yoga, ayurveda, better health and self-development.
