Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast! I'm Bill Jelen and today we have a viewer, Colin, who called in with a question about Excel. Today's call comes from Jim in Montreal, who noticed a change in the auto-filter feature in Excel 2007. In the old version of Excel, the auto-filter was a simple drop-down menu that allowed you to easily filter your data by selecting specific values. However, in Excel 2007, the auto-filter has been revamped to look more like the drop-down menu in a pivot table. While this may be a great feature for some, it can be frustrating for those who are used to the old version.

In the old version of Excel, you could easily select multiple values from the auto-filter by using the custom filter option. However, in Excel 2007, this process has become more complicated and requires three clicks instead of one. While this may seem like a small inconvenience, it can add up for those who regularly use the auto-filter feature. On the other hand, the new auto-filter in Excel 2007 allows for easier selection of multiple values without having to resort to the custom filter and Boolean logic.

Overall, the new auto-filter in Excel 2007 has its pros and cons. While it may be more difficult for those who are used to the old version, it also offers new features that can be beneficial for certain tasks.
