Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Change the Default Excel Comment Color: Easy Tutorial.

Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast! In today's episode, we're going to tackle a common issue that many Excel users face - default comments. As we all know, when working with large amounts of data, it's important to be able to analyze and organize it efficiently. That's where pivot tables come in handy. But what about comments? How can we make them stand out and be more visually appealing?

Well, our viewer Laura from Wisconsin had a great question about this. She wanted to know if there was a way to globally change the default color of comments in Excel, instead of having to manually change them every time. Unfortunately, there isn't a built-in feature for this. However, I have a workaround that might just do the trick.

First, go to your control panel and navigate to the "Appearance" section. In there, click on "Advanced" and look for an item called "tooltip". This is the format for comments, as well as tooltips. From here, you can change the color, font, and size of your comments. For example, you can change the color to a bright green, the font to Tahoma, and the size to 10. Once you click "OK", these settings will apply to all future comments.

But here's the catch - this will also change the appearance of tooltips in other programs, not just Excel. So you'll have to decide if it's worth it to you. Personally, I've found it to be a helpful change, but it's up to you to weigh the pros and cons. I hope this tip helps you save time and make your comments more visually appealing.
