Pinky Jose Pinky Jose belonged to a Malayali Christian family that lived in Siliguri. Her childhood was very different from all other children of her age. She had four holes in her heart and was badly depended upon medicines. Even if she did not have her food she could live, but without medicine she could not survive a day. It was a part of her life. Her mother would not allow her to play or walk for long because it caused severe breathing problem and she was unable to breathe properly and would feel very bad when she saw others students participating in the school annual function or sports events and they used to sing and dance in the programme. And she could never participate. Tablets and health check ups were an integral part of Pinky's life. Her sickness left her bitter and frustrated. "I would question God, why have you created me defected and I used to tell God, you cannot be present any where. If you are there then I would not have any difficulty and my parents would not suffer. Slowly I became an atheist and did not believe the very existence of God," said Pinky.
