The dog grabbed and swallowed the 3-cm across coin-shaped dog treat whole yesterday at 9 pm and does not look well or eat today Sunday March 2, 2014 at 9am. The owner put his head down but nothing was dislodged. Usually, he is given in 4 quadrants. He does not vomit. Just lethargic. I got an X-ray done although I had informed the owner that the treat would not be seen on X-ray as it is not radio-dense. No obvious treat was seen in the X-ray of the throat and chest area. I put the dog on IV drip, baytril and anti-spasmogesic IV. The dog was alert and was not vomiting. In the afternoon, he was anesthesized and stomach-tubed.
