HOPKINSVILLE, Kentucky - Congressman Ed Whitfield (R-KY 1st District) of southern Kentucky says he doesn't think there's going to be any last minute deals this time. The budget cuts are going to occur and people will feel it. He also says he feels like members of Congress don't really know or trust each other, so the big decisions can't get done. There's not any socializing today or very little because of time constraints, so you don't have this comradery of each other, so we end up debating complex issues with different geographical areas and you don't have this knowledge of each other or trust in each other, says Representative Whitfield. You can hear more of the Congressman's interview Thursday on TENNESSEE MORNINGS starting at 5am.
