It's Carnforth Open Day - a celebration of steam traction on British Railways that ended 40 years ago on 11th August 1968. In attendance was the Class 40 Preservation Society whose mainline engine 40145 can be seen standing outside the shed. Amongst the hustle and bustle of the day, we see CFPS Chairman John Stephens in maroon top, CFPS Publicity Officer and self-confessed 'train spotter' Steve Jones looking slightly overweight due to a crude and abusive lifestyle, and finally CFPS working-member Derek Gordon making an appearance. Derek's claim to fame is his world-famous Fotopic website. Notice the items for sale -- DVD's, books, Whistler magazines, laminations, prints, and model engines etc. The date is Saturday 26th July 2008
