Jan 27, 2014. The hamster has a lower lip swelling. I advised surgical incision to release the blood inside the swelling. A clean cut rather than waiting for the haemtoma to rupture. This would involve anaesthesia. The owner prefers medication.. The cause would be traumatic injury - possibly a sharp sunflower seed. The left elbow has several small skin warts which irritate the hamster. I advised wart removal as they are small and cause itchiness. It is hard to restrain this hamster. The owner did not want surgery.
