Ever wonder what makes a good movie great? The best movies of all time have several things in commong. Here are key elements that all great films of all time have in common. Obviously there's a lot more that goes into great filmmaking but I think these basic elements of cinema make movies great when done well or ruin films when done poorly. 

1. Story (screenwriting)
2. Pacing
3. Production Value (not necessarily budget)
4. Moments (Good ones)

Finally, Time. I really think that time is the only way to differentiate good movies from great movies. Great films manager to maintain an audience for decades and are enjoyed by new generations. In order to do this, they need all the elements above but they also need that "time" to ferment and become part of pop culture.
