Did You Know These Movies Were Remakes?

We found some great movies that are actually remakes. Movie remakes get a bad wrap, and for good reason, but there are some shining examples of remakes that most people don't even realize were actually remakes. Heck! almost half of Leonardo DiCaprio movies are technically remakes, even The Revenant! This is the first video in a series on remakes and why they are an important form of storytelling, even if most of them suck... HARD.

The fact that so many remakes suck, might be part of the reason these films aren't often recognized as being remakes. In these cases, the filmmakers did a good enough job with the source material that they didn't need to reference their "lesser" original films. In other cases, the filmmakers are banking on the recognition from the originals because their end product isn't better or even good enough to stand on it's own.

Movies included in this video are:
Sleepless (2017)
Sleepless Night (2011)
Man in the Wilderness (1971)
The Revenant (2015)
Infernal Affairs (2002)
The Departed (2006)
The Omega Man (1971)
I Am Legend (2007)
The Thing (1982)
The Thing From Another World (1951)
A Fistful of Dollars (1964)
Yojimbo (1961)
La Jetee (1962)
12 Monkeys (1995)
