If you can't wait to see Guillermo Del Toro's New Movie, "The Shape of Water" here are some good movies to watch before it's release in Dec. 2017. While Pan's Labyrinth and The Creature from the Black Lagoon are obvious choices, we picked out several movies to watch that might not be quite so obvious but that could have a lot more in common with The Shape of Water than you think.

Guillermo Del Toro movies often have similar themes and styles in common but one big similarity here is the new creature design for The Shape of Water. It shares a striking resemblance with Abe from the Hellboy movies, also directed by Del Toro. However, he claims there is no relation and that this new film is completely original, still we think it couldn't hurt to rewatch Hellboy, along with other films like Midnight Special, Dr. Strangelove, and Frankenstein.
