Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Office 2010 finally allows you to customize the ribbon. Episode 1077 shows you how.

Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast! In this episode, we're diving into the world of Excel 2010 and all its new features. One of the biggest challenges with Excel 2007 was the introduction of the ribbon, which left many users feeling lost and frustrated. As a result, many companies chose not to upgrade, fearing the time and cost of retraining their employees. But fear not, because in Excel 2010, we finally have the ability to customize the ribbon without any programming knowledge.

In this video, I'll show you how to easily customize the ribbon to fit your specific needs. No more searching for where things are located on the ribbon - you can now organize it in a way that makes sense to you. For example, I'll show you how to move the Pivot Table button from the Insert tab to the Data tab, where it logically belongs. And the best part? You can even turn off entire ribbon tabs that you don't use, making your Excel experience even more streamlined.

But what about sharing these customizations with your colleagues? No problem! You can easily export your customized ribbon and share it with others in your company. This is especially useful for the Excel go-to person in your office, who can create a customized ribbon for the entire team to use. And for all you data analysts out there, I'll be sharing my own MrExcel customizations for Excel 2010, so stay tuned for that.

I have to say, Microsoft was a bit arrogant in forcing everyone to adapt to their ribbon design in Excel 2007. But with this new customization feature in Excel 2010, they have truly listened to user feedback and given us the power to make the ribbon work for us. So let's take advantage of this great improvement and make our Excel experience even better. Thanks for watching, and I'll see you next time for another netcast from MrExcel.
