The cost of maize flour is gradually reducing to between 115 shillings to 125 shillings per two kilogram packet after the government allowed millers to buy maize from the National Cereals and Produce Board. However, millers say Kenyans are likely to enjoy the reduced cost of maize flour for up to 12 days if the government does not increase the volume of subsidized maize from NCPB depots or facilitate cheaper imports.
