This year marks the 25th anniversary of the declaration of 17th October as the ‘International Day for the Eradication of Poverty’. From Wednesday to Sunday the United Nations is holding celebrations in Canada under the global theme of ‘coming together with those furthest behind to build an inclusive world of universal respect for human rights and dignity’.  A Kenyan boy is among the speakers at the event .
