The county engineer says he needs about 500 tons of salt to clear the ice and snow that is expected. Monday, several truck loads were delivered to the salt barn, but the county says that it is still not enough. When an ABC 22/FOX 45 news crew visited the salt barn Sunday afternoon the county only had a thousand tons of salt left. They got a shipment of a couple hundred tons last week, but used most of it. The county engineer is concerned if they do not get enough salt on Tuesday that they will run dangerously low.Although, the county would like 500 tons of salt. The engineer says they can get through this next storm with 1,000 tons of salt . In January, the county had to borrow 200 tons of salt from Miami County after running out.The county's salt supplier, North American Salt, is expected to deliver more truck loads of salt today.
