A dedication to my special little friend Hugo, for teaching me so much and for being so important to me in 2012.  Hugo is a Pomerian/Maltese Cross, and he is 6 years old this week. Long may he shine. Thanks buddy.

Andrew Gold will be sorely missed, as a singer/songwriter/producer and performer. His career spanned several decades, and his death this year at just 59 was way way too soon. 'Thank you for being a friend' was released in 1978 and was a substantial hit in America, while only a minor one here in Australia. 

This song has obvious resonance for me - my all time favourite sitcom used this composition for its opening theme, and it is such a memorable lyric and tune.
