B-17 Bomber Lands in Chattanooga

A piece of living World War II history arrived in Chattanooga on Monday. The B-17 Texas Raiders is available for the public to view on its 3-day visit, with tours and flights underway. The plane tours all across the United States on a mission to educate the public about vintage military aircraft and their role in U.S. history. Texas Raiders is one of just nine remaining flyable B-17s left in the world today, and has undergone eight years of extensive restoration at a cost of over $600,000 to bring it into flying condition. This vintage bomber is owned by the Commemorative Air Force (CAF), and operated by the Gulf Coast Wing of the CAF located in Spring, TX. For more information go to the Texas Raiders Flights website.
