The last time I was at Hebden Bridge was for the 'Retro Retracer' railtour on a wet bank holiday Monday dated 28th May 2007. See my utube file titled '40145 Hebden Bridge Rail Tour'. Fourteen weeks later we are back again but this time filmed from the other platform. This is the same locomotive -- Class 40 40145 -- motoring through the station on the 'Buxton Forester' railtour dated Saturday 15th September 2007. This Mark Elderkin tour ran from Birmingham International, Crewe, Manchester Piccadilly, Buxton, Sheffield, Leeds, Bradford, Hebden Bridge, Morcambe, Lancaster, Manchester Piccadilly and back to Birmingham. Having just seen the tour at Buxton, I then made the two-hour journey to Hebden Bridge for the excitement of this run-by. As can be seen, the tour seemed to be in full-flight as this preservation machine broke the silence with an awesome display of power. On the train, spirits were clearly running high as can be seen by the passengers making their presence felt. The tour, which was top-and-tailed with Class 37 37248, is not far from Copy Pit where CFPS member Steve Jones had one word on his mind, and that was 'monster!'. Once again, the Class 40 Preservation Society have staged another impressive rail-tour by returning this veteran machine back to the mainline for a serious workout. John Wantling, Rochdale
