In this video, I talk about the most important question you can ask yourself and it's something I ask myself all the time to remind me what truly matters.

You guys know I'm a very goal oriented person. In my life, I've always had very specific goals which give me the ability to focus my energy.

Those goals changed over time, but there was always a direction. Aside from goals I love data, tracking and keeping myself accountable while working toward a specific result.

Now, the problem with this is that I can get caught up too much with a goal and attached too much to that results.

This is why I often ask myself this very important question from the video. "Then what?"

Here's an example of how this would work for you:

"I want to get ripped, I want to have a six-pack." Then what?

"I want to hit a new PR on Bench Press within the next 8 weeks." Then what?

"I want to buy this expensive car or house..." Then what?

"I wanna travel the world." Then what?

It's important to ask yourself this question to remind yourself that we're doing all these things as a part of our life long journey of self-improvement.

It's not about that specific results, it's about become a better person through the process, through the journey.

There's a reason why people don't take a helicopter to the top of the mountain and instead they hike.

Hiking is 100 times more demanding both physically and psychologically but we still do it. Because we enjoy the process.

As cliche as it sounds it really is about the journey, not the destination.

The destination is the end of life, if you look at it realistically.

And all we have is this journey.

I see a lot of people forget this, they get caught up too much with the result and with goal that they forget why they're doing all of this in the first place.

Asking myself this important question brings me back to that big picture view and doesn't allow my mind to micro focus 100% of the time.

I'm not saying focus is bad. Focus is most likely the best skill you can have in today's time but there has to be a balance.

Hope you guys enjoy, it's a bit different than my usual videos but I really wanted to throw this out there as it was something I've been thinking about for a while now.
