Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Change Colors with Ease | Explore 20 Built-in Themes & Live Preview Feature.

Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast! In this week's episode, we're diving into the world of Excel 2007 and exploring how to change colors in your spreadsheets. Luckily, this is a much simpler process in Excel 2007 compared to its predecessor, Excel 2003.

To change colors in Excel 2007, all you need to do is go to the Page Layout tab. From there, you can use either the Themes drop-down or the Colors drop-down. When you select the Themes drop-down, you'll see that there are 20 different themes built into Excel. While the default theme is usually the Office theme, you can easily switch to any other theme and see the colors in your charts and spreadsheets automatically change.

One of the great things about the themes in Office 2007 is that they are consistent across all Microsoft Office programs. This means that if you create a spreadsheet in Excel, a document in Word, and a presentation in PowerPoint, they will all have the same color scheme, fonts, and effects. This makes it easy to maintain a cohesive look and feel across all your documents.

In addition to the 20 pre-built themes, Excel 2007 also offers live preview, allowing you to see how your document will look with different themes without having to commit to any changes. Simply hover over the various themes and watch as the chart behind the drop-down automatically changes to the corresponding colors. This feature makes it even easier to find the perfect color scheme for your spreadsheet.

Gone are the days of struggling to come up with a different color scheme in Excel 2003. With 20 built-in themes and live preview, Excel 2007 makes it a breeze to change the look and feel of your documents with just a few clicks. Thanks for tuning in to this netcast from MrExcel, and we'll see you next time for more Excel tips and tricks!
