The government has given a lifeline to the embattled Kenya National Shipping Line  following approval of its proposed revival  strategy where the company has been identified as a key  mechanism for growing the blue economy . Under the revival strategy, the company will have sole mandate to handle Government cargo. The Cabinet also approved the proposed Nuclear Regulatory Bill, 2017 which is aimed at repealing the Radiation Protection Act.
