The countrywide anti-rabies campaign launched in 2014 is still ongoing and has seen hundreds of thousands of dogs vaccinated. The initiative dubbed, the Strategic Plan for the Elimination of Human Rabies in Kenya was rolled out simultaneously in six counties to create awareness, surveillance and respond to outbreaks in addition to carrying out mass dog vaccination drives. Our reporter Jackline Wambiru was in Makueni county and highlights success of the initiative in the region.
