Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast! In this video, I will be showing you a new and innovative way to analyze and present your data using Excel. We all know that dealing with massive amounts of data can be overwhelming, but with the help of Pivot tables, we can easily solve this problem. So let's dive in and see how we can use Pivot tables to our advantage!

In this netcast, I will be focusing on the new data bar concept in Excel 2007. I had some topics and percentages that I wanted to analyze, but the default data bar option just wasn't cutting it for me. I wanted the data bars to be displayed on the words, not the numbers. After some experimentation, I came up with a brilliant solution that I'm excited to share with you all.

I discovered that by using a custom number format, I could replace the numbers with actual words. For example, instead of seeing the number 0.5, I could have the word "Intro" displayed. This not only made the data more visually appealing, but it also allowed me to use the data bars on the words themselves. I will be showing you how to create this custom number format and apply it to your data in just a few simple steps.

But that's not all! I will also be sharing a quick and easy macro that will save you time when applying the custom number format to multiple cells. And the best part? You can still use the data bars on these cells, making your data analysis even more efficient and visually appealing.
