Man Of Steel #2 pushes Superman aside for most of the book, to give us some insight into how characters like Perry White, Jimmy Olsen and others interact around him. However, Bendis is still the focus.

Man Of Steel #2 comes just a week after the full sized debut of Brian Michael Bendis on a Superman story, which is a good thing. This issue take Superman and pushes him aside in favor of Clark Kent and the cast of characters around him. We spend almost as much time, if not more, away from big blue as we do with him. From the realization of the galactic council that Rogol Zaar has acted outside their control, to the gossip around the Daily Planet office, the world moves along whether Superman is there or not. Bendis continues to find subtle flaws in Superman, which make him feel less than super sometimes, but this humanizing of the character might pay off down the road. As of right now, Rogol Zaar has just now found out that Superman is the last son of Krypton, and the disappearance of Lois and Jon still has not been explained.

iRate Reviews is the show where I go over specific comic books from my pickup that deserve to be talked about and review them in a little bit more depth. This doesn't mean that they are always good though. Some comics are lessons in what NOT to do.
