Education stakeholders in Wajir County are demanding the resignation of the Teachers Service Commission CEO over the irregular transfer of close to 900 non local teachers from the county. Students and parents flocked Wajir streets to protest against continued marginalization by national government, that has compromised security provision, which now threatens the right to education for both primary and secondary students. Wajir County Commissioner Loyford Kibaara, on the other hand, pleaded with the stakeholders to join the special forum on Monday, which they hope will come up with a practical retention program for teachers in the region.
