Microsoft Excel Tutorial: The Fill Handle can fill a list of your products if you set up a custom list first. Welcome back to another episode of the Learn Excel netcast with Dr. Bill. In this video, we will be discussing a useful tip for filling in lists in Excel using the fill handle. Last week, we talked about how to use the fill handle for filling in dates, but what if you have a list of items that you want to fill in? Well, that's where this tip comes in handy. Let's say you have a list of departments, customers, employees, or any other type of list that you regularly work with. Instead of manually typing in each item, you can simply type in the first item and use the fill handle to fill in the rest of the list for you. But first, you need to set up your custom list in Excel. To do this, select your list and go to Tools, then Options, and click on the Custom lists tab. From there, click on the Import button and your list will be added to the bottom of the custom list tab. Now, whenever you need to fill in a list, simply type in the first item and use the fill handle to complete the rest of the list. This tip can save you time and effort, especially if you have a long list of items to fill in. You can use it for various purposes, such as filling in flavors from your local bagel shop like we did in this video. So, the next time you have a list to fill in, remember this handy tip and make your Excel experience even more efficient. And don't forget, January 30th is a big day for Excel enthusiasts as it marks the release of Excel 2007. I'll be at Best Buy at 5 a.m. to get my copy, but I'll make sure to be back here by 9 o'clock to bring you another informative netcast. Thanks for watching and we'll see you in the next one!"
