BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (WKRC) -- New safety barriers will soon go up in the same spot as a deadly interstate crash.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to install median cable barriers along I-71 in part of Boone County. The barriers will stretch for seven miles from mile marker 70-77.
They will be designed to keep vehicles from crossing the median into oncoming traffic. Thursday, Jan. 29's crash happened when a tractor trailer hit a disabled vehicle and crossed the median.
Plans for the barriers have been in place for a while
