www.eyesonthesky.com White dwarf stars can be very hard to see, because they are faint, so the easiest ones for us to observe are close ones. Fortunately, there are two relatively nearby to Earth that are also near somewhat bright stars. One is Sirius B, close to the brightest star in the entire night sky, though special techniques are needed to see it easily due to the overwhelming brightness of Sirius A. The other is Omicron 2 Eridani B, not far from it's A companion, which is not as brilliant as Sirius. So that makes the white dwarf easy to find - and, there's a surprise right nearby too!
