Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Time-Saving Excel Shortcuts: Enter Today's Date, Format Text, & View Formulas. Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast, where we explore all things Excel. In today's episode, we'll be discussing some handy shortcuts that can save you time and make your Excel experience even more efficient. First, we'll cover the shortcut for entering today's date. By using the key combination of control and semicolon, you can quickly input today's date into your spreadsheet. But that's not all - we'll also show you how to enter the current time using control and shift and the colon key. These shortcuts are easy to remember and can save you valuable time when working with dates and times in Excel. But that's not all - we'll also dive into some other useful shortcuts, such as control B for bold, control U for underline, and control I for italics. These shortcuts are great for formatting your data quickly and easily. And for those of you who use Excel for to-do lists, we'll show you how to cross off completed tasks using control 5 for strike through. But wait, there's more! Did you know that you can view all the formulas in your worksheet at once? By using the key combination of control and the tilde key (or the backwards accent key on some keyboards), you can toggle between viewing all formulas and viewing the results. This can be a helpful tool for troubleshooting and understanding your data. If you're a fan of shortcuts, you'll definitely want to check out the IdeasOn keyboard for Excel.
